چکیده
This paper explores the relationship between high-speed rail (HSR) and industrial agglomeration within urban agglomerations. The selects data of Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Urban Agglomeration (BJHUA) Central Plains (CPUA) from 2002 to 2016 as research object. time-varying difference-in-difference (TVDID) model is innovatively applied analyze impact HSR on secondary tertiary industries in agglomerations, effects two agglomerations are compared. results show that influence railways heterogeneous. In BJHUA, not particularly significant. On other hand, CPUA, does have a significant industry. However, it negative effect addition, further analysis reveals variations after excluding central cities. It important note regional can be complex multifaceted. findings enrich theoretical understanding agglomeration.

متن کاملDo high technology agglomerations encourage urban sprawl?
This paper looks at the impact of high technology employment concentrations on urban sprawl. A methodology for translating spatial employment patterns, into place of residence patterns, is presented. On this basis, the consumption of land at the urban fringe due to both residential and nonresidential uses, is estimated. The method is tested empirically using data relating to the two main outer ...
متن کاملTourism and Industrial Agglomeration
Tourism generates increased income and employment in host countries and regions which substantially improves local economies. On the other hand, the manufacturing sector remains the most important part in regional and national economies. By explicitly embedding a nontraded good sector into a new economic geography model, we were able to investigate the interdependence between the tourism sector...
متن کاملDo China’s High-Speed-Rail Projects Promote Local Economy? ---New evidence from a panel data approach
This paper evaluates the effect of High Speed Rail (HSR) projects on the economic growth of targeted city nodes (HSR cities) in China using prefectural-level city data from 1990 to 2013. Employing a panel data program evaluation method devised by Hsiao, Chin and Wan (2012), we construct hypothetical counterfactuals for per capita real GDP of HSR cities in the absence of their respective HSR pro...
